Playing music over Bluetooth is somewhat lacking once you’ve used the wired connection. Even i select on the phone it remains silent on the radio. My radio changes from USB to iPod like it always did but cannot detect the music files. Honestly it’s weird that whatever they changed in the file system unmentioned in iOS 11 wasn’t done in 10.3 when they changed the entire file system. So I updated the phone to iOS 11.1 and it made zero changes to this issue. Now seeing as the uConnect update did nothing I also removed my phone from the paired devices and re added it to see if that would help. I assumed it had an issue loading details from my massive music collection on the phone. Note that this issue did not happen when the phone is plugged into the USB port. But I could still search the full artist title or scroll and select anything in the library. On Bluetooth connection and searching artists by the first letter “ABC” it would not load all available selections and only did A-M or something.

Although it did resolve an issue I had connecting to my phone before. UConnect/truck software update did not fix this issue. *** Side note, my daughters 2010 Chevy Cobalt is having similar problems as described by the ben2tall and his Jeep. (edited - I was, at the time running iOS 11.0.1 - I have NOT tired the latest 11.0.3 to see if anything changed) I have updated my RER many times in the past - a fairly easy process - so I'll take a look and see if I can find a downloadable fix that I can apply to the radio. I'll call this an Apple issue - as all iOS version prior to 11 worked w/o issue. Clearly there is some sort of iOS 11 problem and how it plays/interacts with the older accessories.

I had to revert my dedicated iPhone 6 back to iOS 10.3.3 to fix the anomalies. The tags come up blank - the skip is flaky, all-in-all it is no longer usable. I have a very similar problem with my 2009 Jeep Commanders U-Connect "RER" system that has the older Apple 30PIN (with converter to lightning) where the radio sees the media on the iPhone but half the time it struggles with reading the music/audiobooks properly.
